Coppet is a small town in Switzerland. It is located in the Vaud canton, right by the beautiful Lake Geneva. Coppet is part of the Nyon district. It's a charming place with a rich history and a famous castle.

History of Coppet
Coppet was first mentioned in official records way back in 1294. At that time, it was called Copetum. Later, in 1347, its name changed slightly to Copet. This shows how old the town is and how its name has evolved over centuries.
Geography of Coppet
Coppet covers an area of about 1.9 square kilometers (0.7 square miles). A big part of this land, about 33.7%, is used for farming. Forests cover a smaller portion, around 3.2%. Most of Coppet, about 62.6%, is covered by buildings and roads.
A tiny part of the area, 0.5%, is made up of rivers or lakes. All the water in Coppet is from lakes, especially Lake Geneva. The town sits right on the banks of Lake Geneva, along the main road connecting Lausanne and Geneva.
