Cottens was once a small town, or municipality, in the Vaud canton of Switzerland. It was located in the Morges area. On July 1, 2021, Cottens joined with several other towns like Apples, Pampigny, Sévery, Bussy-Chardonney, and Reverolle to form a new, larger municipality called Hautemorges.

Cottens has a long history! The town was first written about in the year 1041. Back then, it was known by the name Chotens.
