David Cortez Clowney IV (born July 8, 1985) is a former professional football player. He played as a wide receiver. David was chosen by the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 NFL Draft. He also played college football for Virginia Tech.
Clowney played for several teams during his career. These included the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, and Buffalo Bills. He also played in other leagues for the Virginia Destroyers and Montreal Alouettes. After playing, he became a coach.

David Clowney's Early Life and Sports
David Clowney grew up in Delray Beach, Florida. He went to Atlantic Community High School. There, he was a star athlete.
High School Football Highlights
David played football for four years in high school. He was a wide receiver and a safety. As a senior, he was named an All-State player. One of his most exciting plays was a 99-yard touchdown catch. This happened in a big game against Blanche Ely High School. He caught 25 passes for 576 yards that year. He also scored ten touchdowns, which was the most in his county.
Other Sports David Played
Besides football, David was also a talented runner. He competed on the track team. He was a finalist in the 200-meter dash at the state level. He also ran in the 100-meter dash. David also played basketball for two years as a guard.
College Football Career
David Clowney attended Virginia Tech for college. He played football for the Virginia Tech Hokies for four seasons. During his time there, he caught 93 passes. He gained 1,373 yards and scored 6 touchdowns. He also returned kicks for 119 yards.

David Clowney began his professional career in 2007. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
Playing for the New York Jets
David joined the New York Jets in October 2007. In a 2008 preseason game, he had an amazing performance. He caught four passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. He finished that preseason with 222 yards and two touchdowns.
Later that year, he made his first official NFL catch. It was a one-handed catch for 26 yards. This play came from quarterback Brett Favre. In 2009, David caught 14 passes for 191 yards. He also scored one touchdown. He was with the Jets until 2010.
Time with Other NFL Teams
After the Jets, David played for the Carolina Panthers. He started four games for them. He then signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2012.
Playing in Canada
David later moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Montreal Alouettes. Unfortunately, he got a neck injury in a preseason game in 2013. This injury put him on the injured reserve list.
