Delhi (pronounced DEL-hy) is a small village in New York, United States. It is the main town, or county seat, of Delaware County. In 2020, about 2,721 people lived there.
Delhi village is located within the larger town of Delhi. You can find it along Routes 10 and 28. The State University of New York at Delhi is also partly located within the village.

History of Delhi Village
Delhi officially became a village in 1821. This means it got its own local government.
Several important buildings in Delhi are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include the Delaware County Courthouse Square District, the First Presbyterian Church, the St. John's Church Complex, and the United States Post Office. These places are recognized for their historical importance.
Where is Delhi Located?
Delhi is right in the middle of the town of Delhi. It's in the northeast part of Delaware County. The village sits in the valley of the West Branch Delaware River.
Two main roads, New York State Route 10 and New York State Route 28, pass through Delhi. Route 10 goes northeast to Stamford (about 20 miles) and southwest to Walton (about 16 miles). Route 28 goes northwest to Oneonta (about 20 miles) and southeast to Kingston (about 69 miles).
The village covers about 3.2 square miles (8.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water. The West Branch Delaware River flows right through the village.
