Descendants: Wicked World is a fun, animated short series from Disney. It's based on the popular Disney Channel movie Descendants. This show first aired on September 18, 2015, on Disney Channel and online. It continued until March 3, 2017.
The series takes place right after the first Descendants movie. It shows what happens next for the main characters. It also brings in exciting new characters from both the Isle of the Lost and Auradon. Many of the original actors from the movies voice their characters in the show. These include Dove Cameron as Mal, Sofia Carson as Evie, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, and Booboo Stewart as Jay.
This series was the first Disney Channel Original Series to be based on one of their own movies.

What's the Story?
After Ben becomes king in the movie Descendants, the villain kids Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay are trying to be good. But their villain parents are still stuck on the Isle of the Lost. This series explores their new lives in Auradon. It also introduces new villain kids like Freddie (Dr. Facilier's daughter), CJ (Captain Hook's daughter), and Zevon (Yzma's son).
Meet the Characters
This show features a mix of characters. Some are the children of famous Disney villains, and others are from the royal kingdom of Auradon.
Villain Kids
- Mal (voiced by Dove Cameron) – She is the daughter of Maleficent. Mal has magical powers, but she now uses them for good things.
- Evie (voiced by Sofia Carson) – She is the daughter of The Evil Queen and Mal's best friend. Evie loves fashion and has a special Magic Mirror that knows everything.
- Carlos (voiced by Cameron Boyce) – He is the son of Cruella de Vil. Carlos can talk to dogs. He also gets scared in small, enclosed spaces, which is called claustrophobia.
- Jay (voiced by Booboo Stewart) – He is the son of Jafar. Even though he wants to be good, Jay sometimes still has a habit of taking things that aren't his.
- Freddie (voiced by China Anne McClain in Season 1, Lauryn McClain in Season 2) – She is the daughter of Dr. Facilier. Freddie is Celia's sister from Descendants 3. She quickly got used to the delicious food in Auradon!
- CJ (voiced by Myrna Velasco) – She is the daughter of Captain Hook and Freddie's best friend. CJ is also the sister of Harry Hook from Descendants 2.
- Zevon (voiced by Bradley Steven Perry) – He is the son of Yzma. In the second season, Zevon tries to combine special jewels to gain power and take over Auradon.
Auradon Kids
- Ben (voiced by Mitchell Hope) – He is the son of Belle and the Beast. Ben is the current king of Auradon and Mal's boyfriend.
- Audrey (voiced by Sarah Jeffery) – She is the daughter of Aurora and Prince Phillip. Audrey was unsure about the villain kids at first, but she is learning to accept them.
- Jane (voiced by Brenna D'Amico) – She is the daughter of The Fairy Godmother. Jane has light magic, but she is still learning how to use it.
- Lonnie (voiced by Dianne Doan) – She is the daughter of Fa Mulan and Li Shang. Lonnie is very friendly to the villain kids and helps them fit in at Auradon.
- Jordan (voiced by Ursula Taherian) – She is the daughter of The Genie. Jordan hosts a web show and lives inside a magic lamp.
- Ally (voiced by Jennifer Veal) – She is the daughter of Alice. Ally is very curious, just like her mom!
How the Show Was Made
The idea for Descendants: Wicked World was announced right after the first Descendants movie aired on Disney Channel. Aliki Theofilopoulos Grafft, who used to work on Phineas and Ferb, announced that she was directing the series. Jenni Cook was the producer. They also shared that the original actors from the movie would be back to voice their characters. Each episode of the series is very short, lasting less than five minutes.
On July 13, 2016, it was announced that the show would have a second season! Bradley Steven Perry joined the cast as Zevon, the son of Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. Also, Lauryn McClain took over voicing Freddie from her sister China Anne McClain. China Anne McClain was busy playing Uma, Ursula's daughter, in Descendants 2.
