Emily Wells (born November 20, 1981) is an American musician, composer, and producer. She plays many instruments like the violin, piano, and synthesizer. Emily Wells is known for her unique sound, which mixes different styles of music. These include alternative, experimental, hip-hop, and classical. Early Life and Musical Start

Emily Wells was born in Amarillo, Texas, in the United States. Her father was a music minister, which means he worked with music in a church. Emily started playing the violin when she was only four years old.

In 1990, her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. She lived there until 2000, when she began traveling. For a while, she lived mostly in New York. Later, after spending eight years in Los Angeles, she moved back to New York.

In 2012, Emily Wells released her album Mama through Partisan Records. The main song from the album, "Mama's Gonna Give You Love," was featured in The New Yorker.

She also released a free remixed version of Mama. This version included remixes by famous artists like Kid Koala and Deerhoof. Around this time, Emily also started working with Clint Mansell, a composer known for movie scores.
