Story of Enchanted

Giselle's Animated World

In the animated fairy tale land of Andalasia, there lives a young woman named Giselle. She dreams of meeting a prince and finding her "happily ever after." Queen Narissa, who is also a witch, rules Andalasia. She wants to keep her throne. She will lose it if her stepson, Prince Edward, finds his true love and marries her.

Queen Narissa asks her helper, Nathaniel, to keep Edward busy. Edward hears Giselle singing and goes to find her. Nathaniel lets a captured troll go to try and stop Giselle. But Edward saves her just in time! When they meet, they instantly fall in love. They plan to get married the very next day.

Journey to New York City

On her way to the wedding, Narissa disguises herself as an old lady. She stops Giselle and pushes her into a magical well. This well sends Giselle to New York City, a place where there are no "happily ever afters." Giselle magically changes from a cartoon into a real-life person. She lands in a manhole in Times Square. Giselle quickly gets lost in the big city.

Meanwhile, Robert, a lawyer who helps people with divorces, is about to ask his girlfriend Nancy to marry him. His daughter, Morgan, is not happy about this. Robert and Morgan find Giselle on their way home. Morgan insists that Giselle stay the night at their apartment. Robert agrees, even though he's not thrilled.

Friends and Foes Arrive

Pip, Giselle's best chipmunk friend from Andalasia, saw Giselle being sent away. He told Edward what happened. So, Edward and Pip go on a rescue mission to New York City. They also turn into real-life versions of themselves. But Pip becomes a real chipmunk and can no longer talk!

Narissa sends Nathaniel to follow Edward and stop him. In a restaurant, Narissa talks to Nathaniel through a soup pot. She gives him three poisoned apples to kill Giselle. Pip overhears this plan, but he can't tell Edward because animals can't speak in the real world. Nathaniel keeps Pip quiet by trapping him in different containers.

New Friendships and Challenges

Giselle uses her magic to call animals to help clean Robert's apartment. Nancy arrives to take Morgan to school. She sees Giselle and thinks Robert is cheating on her. Robert is upset at first. But he spends the day with Giselle, knowing she needs help in the city. Giselle asks Robert about his relationship with Nancy. She helps them make up by sending Nancy an invitation to a "King and Queen's Costume Ball." The ball is at the Woolworth Building.

Edward finds Giselle at Robert's apartment. Edward wants to take Giselle back to Andalasia right away to get married. But Giselle suggests they go on a date first to get to know each other better. She is confused about her feelings. Giselle promises to return to Andalasia after their date at the ball. Robert and Nancy also go to the ball.

The Final Confrontation

Narissa has been watching from Andalasia. She decides to go to New York City herself to kill Giselle. This is because Nathaniel failed to poison Giselle twice. Robert and Giselle share a romantic dance. They look into each other's eyes. Giselle and Edward then get ready to leave. But Giselle feels sad about leaving Robert.

Narissa appears as the old hag again. She offers Giselle the last poisoned apple. She promises "sweet dreams and happy endings." Giselle takes a bite and falls unconscious. Narissa tries to escape with Giselle's body. But Edward stops her. Nathaniel realizes Narissa was just using him and never loved him. He tells everyone her evil plan.

Robert remembers that only true love's kiss can break the apple's spell. Edward's kiss doesn't wake Giselle. So, Edward tells Robert to kiss her instead. When Robert kisses her just as the clock strikes midnight, Giselle wakes up! The whole crowd cheers. Narissa gets very angry. She turns into a giant blue dragon and takes Robert hostage.

Giselle takes Edward's sword and chases Narissa to the top of the building. Pip, who was freed by Edward, helps Giselle. Giselle makes Narissa fall to her death.

Happy Endings for Everyone

Everyone finds a happy new life. Edward and Nancy get married in Andalasia. Giselle starts a successful fashion business. Nathaniel and Pip both become successful authors, writing about their adventures in the real world. Giselle stays in the real world. She forms a happy family with Robert and Morgan, and she marries Robert.
