Essertines-sur-Yverdon is a small town, also called a municipality, in the Vaud canton of Switzerland. Its name means "Essertines on Yverdon." It is part of the Gros-de-Vaud area.

Essertines-sur-Yverdon was first mentioned in old records way back in 1180. Back then, it was simply known as Essertines.

Essertines-sur-Yverdon covers an area of about 9.75 square kilometers (about 3.76 square miles). A large part of this land, about 68%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 25.5% of the area. The rest of the land, about 5.9%, has buildings and roads. There's also a tiny bit of water, like rivers, and some unproductive land.
