Eva Lind (born 14 June 1966) is an amazing Austrian soprano singer and TV presenter. She is known for her special voice, called a coloratura soprano, which means she can sing very high and fast notes. Since 1985, she has performed in many operas, concerts, and recitals.
Eva Lind has also been on television as both a performer and a host. She presented several music shows, including Straße der Lieder on ARD from 2003 to 2008. A music critic named Andrew Lamb once said her voice was "sheer delight, fresh, crisp, clear, beautifully agile and with superb trills."

Life and Music Career
Early Life and Learning
Eva Lind was born in Innsbruck, Austria. She started learning to sing at the Tyrol State Conservatory in her hometown. In 1983, she won a big Austrian competition for young musicians called Jugend musiziert. That same year, she had her first stage performance as a Flowermaiden in Wagner's opera Parsifal.
While she was studying philosophy, journalism, and theatre at the University of Vienna, she kept training her singing. She learned from famous teachers like Marta Lantieri, Ruthilde Boesch, and Wilma Lipp.
Becoming an Opera Star
In 1985, when she was only 19, Eva Lind got a big role as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Vienna State Opera. She became a regular singer there, performing many important roles. These included Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, and Adele in Die Fledermaus.
She quickly started performing in famous opera houses and festivals around the world. In 1986, she sang at the Salzburg Festival. She also performed in Monte-Carlo, Stuttgart, Zürich, Berlin, and Munich. In 1987, she made her debut in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
In 1988, she sang for the first time at the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Glyndebourne Festival. She played Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff. She later took on other main roles like Gilda in Rigoletto in 1991 and Violetta in La traviata in 1996. In 1997, she sang at the famous La Scala opera house in Milan.
In 2002, she took the main role in the first performance of Mascagni's operetta Sì at the Vienna Volksoper. She also toured Japan with members of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra in 2010.
In July 2012, Eva Lind sang her first Nedda in Leoncavallo's opera Pagliacci at the Schlossfestspiele Schwerin. She has also performed regularly in China, including in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and other cities. She has sung in many other major cities like London, Madrid, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires.
Television Work
Eva Lind first appeared on TV in 1983 on a talent show called Die große Chance. In 1985, she was in a TV show called Rossini at Versailles with other famous singers.
From 2003 to 2008, she was a host for Straße der Lieder on ARD. This was a popular Saturday evening show that featured traditional folk songs. She also hosted the Semperopernball in 2009, which is a big opera ball event.
Music Academy
In 2015, Eva Lind started the Academy of Music Tyrol (Musicakademie Tirol). This academy offers special classes, called masterclasses, for people who want to learn classical singing and play musical instruments.
