Ice Quake Plot Summary
The story begins with Michael Monroe, a teenage orphan. He accidentally starts a fire in an old fireplace at his boarding school, St Mark's Retreat. Because of this, he is kicked out of his sixth school in six years. The next morning, he leaves on a bus to be taken to the local education authority.
However, during the bus ride, the driver loses control, and the bus crashes into an icy lake. Michael, along with the head boy Vincent Armoury, bravely saves the school's debate team from drowning. When Vincent gets hurt, Michael pulls him from the water and helps him breathe before passing out himself. Michael's heroic actions catch the eye of Dr. Jimmy Kincaid. Dr. Kincaid is a millionaire who owns SOS, a team that does dangerous rescue missions all over the world.
Michael's first mission is to find the missing "Eden" satellite. This satellite was measuring greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere. The mission doesn't start well, and Michael ends up stranded in the Canadian Rockies. He is with Katya, another teenage SOS member, who isn't too happy about him being there. While trying to succeed where the adults have failed, the teenagers face armed men, wolves, and a very large polar bear.
