Froideville is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Gros-de-Vaud area. It is part of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

History of Froideville
Froideville was first mentioned in official records way back in 1284. At that time, its name was Frigida Villa.
Geography of Froideville
Froideville covers an area of about 7.08 square kilometers (2.73 square miles). A big part of this land, about 38.3%, is used for farming. This means people grow crops or keep animals there. Even more land, about 51.3%, is covered by forests. The rest of the land, about 10.3%, has buildings or roads on it.
Most of the built-up areas are homes and other buildings. Roads and other transport links make up a smaller part. The forests in Froideville are mostly dense, thick woods. For farming, about 27.5% of the land is used for growing crops. Another 10% is used as pastures for animals.
Froideville used to be part of the Echallens District. But on August 31, 2006, that district was closed. Froideville then became part of the new Gros-de-Vaud district. The town is also located in the Jorat mountain range.
