A Glimpse into Poliez-Pittet's Past
Poliez-Pittet is quite old! It was first written about between 1160 and 1179, when it was called Poleto. Later, in 1230, people referred to it as Pollie lo Pitet.

Poliez-Pittet covers an area of about 5.01 square kilometers (which is about 1.93 square miles). A big part of this land, about 54.9%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 35.7% of the area. The remaining 9.4% is where buildings and roads are located.

The municipality used to be part of the Echallens District. However, that district was closed on August 31, 2006. Poliez-Pittet then became part of the new Gros-de-Vaud district. The town is located on the left side of the Mentue river.
