The festival has been running since 1986. It covers a huge area of 32 acres. You can visit for eight weekends in late spring and early summer. They also open on Memorial Day and have a special day for school field trips. This lets students experience what life was like back then. The festival was not held in 2020.

Live Shows and Performers
There are ten stages spread out across the festival grounds. These stages host shows for all ages. You can see talented jugglers tossing things in the air. Musicians play old-timey tunes. Storytellers share funny and exciting tales.
One of the most popular events is the joust. Here, knights on horseback compete in thrilling contests. You can also meet professional actors. They dress up as members of the royal court, monks, and peasants. They act just like people from the 16th century. Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes too!
Artisans and Crafts
The festival is home to more than 150 skilled artisans. These craftspeople create amazing things by hand. You can watch them at work and even buy their creations. Some artisans bend wire into cool shapes. Others do hair wraps and braiding. You might see glassblowing, where artists shape hot glass. There's also handmade pottery and a coin mint. Many artisans will show you how they make their crafts.
You can also find shops selling period costumes. There are weapon smiths who make swords and other items. A foundry offers pewter items, like cups and figures.
