Heitor Pereira facts for kids

Heitor Teixeira Pereira (born November 29, 1960), also known as Heitor TP, is a very talented Brazilian composer. He is best known for creating the music for the popular Despicable Me movies. Heitor has worked with many famous musicians like Elton John and Rod Stewart. He was also a member of the band Simply Red. Today, he writes music for films and works at Hans Zimmer's music studio.

Heitor is mainly a guitarist, but he also sang backup for Simply Red's song "Thrill Me." He often works with film directors like Chris Renaud, Pierre Coffin, and Kyle Balda.

In 1994, Heitor released his own album in the United Kingdom called Heitor TP. After that, he left Simply Red to focus on his solo music career. He also helped compose music for many movie soundtracks. Some of these movies include Gladiator, Mission: Impossible 2, and Madagascar.

In 2003, Heitor Pereira wrote a song called "Remember Me" for the movie Something's Gotta Give.

In 2006, Heitor won a special award called a Grammy Award. He won it for 'Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist'. This was for his work on the song "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" with Chris Botti and Sting.
