Other chili dogs include Michigan dogs and Texas dogs. Michigan dogs are from upstate New York. Texas dogs are from Pennsylvania. Both of these hot dogs are spicy. The Texas dog has a spicy sauce. The Michigan dog has a spicy sausage. Chili dogs are also popular in the Southwestern United States.
Chicago Dogs
Another famous hot dog is the Chicago dog. This hot dog uses a Vienna beef sausage. It is topped with mustard, onion, bright green pickle relish, peppers, tomatoes, and a pickle.
Kosher and Halal Hot Dogs
A type of hot dog called a "kosher hot dog" is common in some parts of the United States and other countries. It is made only from Kosher beef. It also has more spice added to it. Kosher hot dogs do not contain any ingredients that are not considered Kosher beef. Halal hot dogs are also made, following similar rules for Halal meat.
Hot Dogs Around the World
Even though hot dogs are most popular in the United States, people eat them in many places worldwide. People in Japan eat a lot of hot dogs. The world's largest hot dog ever was made there.
In some countries, the name "hot dog" means a different sausage dish. For example, in New Zealand, a "hot dog" means a corn dog. People there call hot dogs "American hot dogs" instead.
