Iván Duque Márquez (born August 1, 1976) is a Colombian politician and economist. He is the 60th President of Colombia since 7 August 2018. Before, he was a senator for Bogota in the Senate of Colombia. He is a member of the Democratic Center Party.
On March 11, 2018, Duque won the nomination to become the presidential candidate for the right coalition. Duque was elected President of Colombia on June 17, 2018 after defeating Gustavo Petro 54% to 42% in the second round. On May 27, 2018 he won the first round of the presidential election with over 39% of the vote.
