Jalen Oluwaseun Isaiah Milroe (born December 13, 2002) is an American football player. He plays the position of quarterback. Jalen played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide team.

High School Football Star

Jalen Milroe went to Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. He was a fantastic player there.

As a junior, he threw for 2,689 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also ran for 378 yards and eight more touchdowns. In his senior year (2020), he passed for 1,136 yards and 13 touchdowns.

During his high school career, Milroe had over 3,800 passing yards. He also ran for 559 yards. He scored 53 total touchdowns. He helped Tompkins High win more than 30 games in three seasons. Jalen first planned to play for Texas. But he later decided to join the University of Alabama.

College Football Journey

Starting at Alabama (2021-2022)

Jalen Milroe started his college career in 2021. He was the backup quarterback to Bryce Young for the 2021 season. This meant he learned a lot but didn't play much. He appeared in four games. He completed three passes for 41 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 57 yards.

In the 2022 season, Milroe was still the backup to Bryce Young. In a spring game, he threw for 149 yards and a touchdown. He played briefly in a few games. Then, in week four, he stepped in when Young got hurt. This was against Arkansas. Milroe threw and ran for a touchdown. He helped Alabama win 49–26.

One week later, he made his first start. This was against Texas A&M. He threw for three touchdowns. Alabama won the game 24–20.

Becoming the Starter (2023)

Before the 2023 season, Bryce Young left Alabama. Jalen Milroe competed with other players to become the starting quarterback. He worked hard and earned the job.

In the first game against Middle Tennessee, Milroe had an amazing start. He scored five touchdowns in total. Three were passing touchdowns and two were rushing touchdowns. Alabama won 56–7.

The next week, Alabama played against no. 11 Texas. Milroe threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns. But Alabama lost 24–34. This was his first loss as a starter. For a short time, another player started at quarterback.

But soon, Coach Nick Saban announced Milroe would be the starter again. He would lead the team for the rest of the season.

Against no. 14 LSU, Milroe had a fantastic game. He ran for 155 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw for 219 yards. Alabama won 42–28. The next week, he scored six total touchdowns. Three were passing and three were rushing. Alabama beat Kentucky 49–21.

In the famous Iron Bowl game against Auburn, Milroe made a game-winning play. With only 31 seconds left, he threw a touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond. This helped Alabama win the game. He finished that game with 254 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 107 yards.

During the 2023 regular season, Milroe led Alabama to a 12–1 record. They also won the SEC Championship. In the championship game, he threw for two touchdowns and 192 yards. He was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP). Alabama won 27–24 against no. 1 Georgia.

Milroe ended the year with 23 passing touchdowns and 2,718 passing yards. He also had 12 rushing touchdowns. In the 2024 Rose Bowl against no. 1 Michigan, Milroe threw for 116 yards. He also ran for 63 yards. Michigan won the game 27–20 in overtime.

Senior Season and Future (2024)

In the first game of the 2024 season, Milroe scored five touchdowns. Three were passing and two were rushing. Alabama won 63–0 against Western Kentucky.

Against no. 2 Georgia, he threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns. This included a 75-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Williams. He also ran for 117 yards and two more touchdowns. Alabama won 41–34.

Against no. 15 LSU, Milroe ran for a career-high 185 yards. He also scored four rushing touchdowns. Alabama won 42–13.

At the end of the season, Jalen Milroe received the William V. Campbell Trophy. This award is for the best football scholar-athlete in the nation. In the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl, he completed 16 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown. Alabama lost 13–19 to Michigan.

Milroe finished the 2024 season with 2,844 passing yards. He also had 726 rushing yards. He scored 35 total touchdowns. On January 2, 2025, Milroe announced he would enter the 2025 NFL draft. This means he plans to play professional football.

Jalen Milroe is a Christian. He was baptized in 2022.

In 2023, Milroe and fellow Alabama athlete Terrion Arnold started a merchandise line. It is called LANK, which stands for "Let All Naysayers Know." Their products are sold at Alabama stores. They have also been given to former Alabama players in the NFL, like Jalen Hurts.
