The Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation is a special camp for Boy Scouts. It is located in the Brookville area of Ocean Township, New Jersey. The camp first opened in 1957.
It was first known as the Ocean County Scout Reservation. Later, it became the Brookville Scout Reservation. The camp was then named after Joseph A. Citta. He was a kind person who gave the land to the Boy Scouts. This generous gift helped create the scout reservation. The camp is found in the beautiful New Jersey Pine Barrens.
Campsites at Citta Scout Reservation
Citta Scout Reservation has nine campsites. These sites are open all year round for scouts and groups. The names of the campsites are Apache, Seneca, Comanche, Iroquois, Algonquin, Kewe, Chippewa, Mohican, and Mohawk.
During the summer camp season, two-person canvas tents are provided for campers. If you visit when summer camp is not happening, you usually need to bring your own tent. However, the Kewe campsite has special lean-tos that can be used all year.
