Joelle Joanie "JoJo" Siwa (born May 19, 2003) is an American singer, dancer, and actress. She is also a well-known media personality. From 2015 to 2016, she was a dancer on the TV show Dance Moms. In 2020, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
In 2017, JoJo Siwa joined Nickelodeon. She starred in many TV shows and movies. She released several popular children's songs. Her movie, The J Team, came out in 2021. The music video for her song "Boomerang" has been watched over 1 billion times on YouTube. In 2024, she released a new music project called Guilty Pleasure. She was also a contestant on the British TV show Celebrity Big Brother in 2025. She finished in third place on the show.

Early Life and Family
Joelle Joanie Siwa was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 19, 2003. Her mother, Jessalynn Siwa, is a dance instructor. Her father, Tom Siwa, is a chiropractor. JoJo has an older brother named Jayden Siwa.
JoJo Siwa's Career
Early Career and Dance Moms
JoJo Siwa began her career on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013. She was one of the youngest contestants. She later joined the TV show Dance Moms in 2015.
In May 2016, JoJo released her songs "Boomerang" and "I Can Make U Dance". "Boomerang" talks about dealing with online bullying. Its music video became very popular. In 2016, JoJo also launched a line of hair bows. These bows were inspired by her signature accessory. They became very popular with young students. JoJo said her bows were a "symbol of power, confidence, believing-ness."
Working with Nickelodeon and Tours
JoJo Siwa signed with Nickelodeon in 2017. She appeared in the movie Blurt! and the show Lip Sync Battle Shorties. In 2018, she partnered with J. C. Penney to create a line of accessories and decor. She also released several books for young children. JoJo was named Breakout Artist of the Year by Vivid Seats in 2018.
In 2019, JoJo Siwa started her first big concert tour. It was called D.R.E.A.M. The Tour. She visited many cities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
Television Appearances and Other Projects
In 2020, JoJo Siwa competed on The Masked Singer as "T-Rex". She was one of the youngest contestants on the show. She also appeared as a character in the video games Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix (2020) and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway (2022). In 2021, JoJo competed on Dancing with the Stars. She and her partner, Jenna Johnson, finished in second place.
In 2021, a breakfast cereal called JoJo Siwa Strawberry Bop was released. It had strawberry-flavored corn puffs and marshmallows. In 2022, JoJo became a judge for the TV show So You Think You Can Dance. She also hosted iHeartRadio's 2022 Can't Cancel Pride event. She received the Gamechanger Award from GLSEN for her work against bullying. In 2022, she had a new show on Facebook Watch called "Jojo Goes".
In 2023, JoJo and her mother, Jessalyn, formed a music group called XOMG Pop. This group appeared on America's Got Talent. JoJo also performed on the CBS special Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic.
New Music and Image
In January 2024, JoJo Siwa returned as a judge for the eighteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance. In February 2024, she showed off a new image at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. She wore a black outfit and a new hairstyle. On April 5, 2024, she released her song "Karma". She called it her "first breakout adult moment" as an artist. In July 2024, she released her fourth music project, Guilty Pleasure. The song "Choose Ur Fighter" from this project was released in January 2025.
