Joelle Joanie "JoJo" Siwa (born May 19, 2003) is an American singer, dancer, and actress. She is also a popular media personality. From 2015 to 2016, she was a dancer on the TV show Dance Moms. She appeared with her mother, Jessalynn Siwa.
In 2017, JoJo Siwa joined Nickelodeon. She acted in many of their shows and movies. She released several songs for kids with Nickelodeon. Her movie, The J Team, came out in 2021. The music video for her song "Boomerang" has been watched over 1 billion times! In 2020, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2024, Siwa started a new part of her career. She released an album called Guilty Pleasure. The song "Karma" was the first single from it.

Joelle Joanie Siwa was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Her birthday is May 19, 2003. Her mother, Jessalynn Siwa, is a dance instructor. Her father, Tom Siwa, is a chiropractor. JoJo has an older brother named Jayden Siwa. He used to make videos online.

Early Dance and TV Appearances
JoJo Siwa started her career on TV. She was a top-5 finalist on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013. She was the youngest person on the show. Later, she joined Dance Moms in 2015. She became part of Abby Lee Miller's dance team.
Music Success and Nickelodeon
In May 2016, JoJo released her songs "Boomerang" and "I Can Make U Dance". "Boomerang" is about dealing with online bullying. Its video has been watched over 1 billion times. In 2018, she was named the Breakout Artist of the Year.
JoJo also became famous for her hair bows. She released a line of bows with Claire's. These bows were very popular with kids. JoJo said her bows were a "symbol of power, confidence, believing-ness." A safety issue with one of her cosmetic products was found and quickly fixed.
In 2017, Siwa signed with Nickelodeon. She appeared in the movie Blurt! and the show Lip Sync Battle Shorties. She also worked with J. C. Penney in 2018. They released a line of accessories, room decor, and a doll. JoJo has also written several books for young children.
In 2019, JoJo went on her first big concert tour. It was called D.R.E.A.M. The Tour. She performed in many cities across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
TV Shows and New Ventures
In 2020, JoJo Siwa competed on The Masked Singer. She was known as "T-Rex". She was the youngest contestant on the show at 16. JoJo also appeared as a character in the video games Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix (2020) and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway (2022).
In 2021, Siwa competed on Dancing with the Stars. She made history as part of the show's first same-sex dancing partnership. She and her partner, Jenna Johnson, finished in 2nd place. Also in 2021, General Mills created a breakfast cereal called JoJo Siwa Strawberry Bop. JoJo also spoke out about a board game that used her name, saying it had questions she didn't approve of.
In 2022, she became a judge for So You Think You Can Dance. She also received the Gamechanger Award from GLSEN. This was for her work against bullying. In 2023, JoJo and her mother helped create the group XOMG Pop. They appeared on America's Got Talent.
Rebranding and New Music
In January 2024, JoJo Siwa returned as a judge for So You Think You Can Dance. In February 2024, she showed off a new look at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. She wore a black outfit and a new hairstyle. She compared her new style to how Miley Cyrus changed her image.
On April 5, 2024, Siwa released her first song as an adult artist, "Karma." She called it her "first breakout adult moment." She also talked about wanting to create a new music style called "gay pop." She later clarified that she didn't invent the style but wanted to be a leader in it.
In July 2024, she released her album Guilty Pleasure. The song "CHOOSE UR FIGHTER" was released as a single in 2025.
