Early Life and Education

Jolene Marie Cholock-Rotinsulu was born in Santa Ana, California, in the United States. Her father, Roy Guustaf Rotinsulu, is from North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Her mother, Allery Lee Cholock, is from Los Angeles, California. Jolene's older sister, Sirena Elizabeth Cholock-Rotinsulu, also won a beauty pageant title in 2011.

Jolene has a bachelor's degree from the Academy of Art University and also studied at the Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Manado.

Career and Achievements

Jolene started working as a commercial model when she was only 10 years old. She has appeared in many music videos as a model and even as a co-singer.

She began her acting career in 2016 with the movie I AM HOPE. This film was made to honor cancer survivors. Jolene is also a skilled equestrian athlete, specializing in dressage. She has a certificate in outdoor recreation.

Since 2017, Jolene has been an official member of the Asian Paralympic Committee. This committee helps prepare for big sports events like the 2018 Asian Para Games. She even received a special award called the "Social Welfare Medal" from the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, for her work.

Jolene is a strong supporter of the rights of elderly people and those with disabilities. She created her own Nursing home care center called "Saya Bisa" in her hometown of Manado. This center helps elderly people with disabilities by providing wheelchairs and other support. She also started a project called "Du’Anyam" to help parents earn money by teaching them traditional weaving skills.

Jolene also works with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. Together, they built a local non-profit organization (NGO) called "Rumah Karya Sahabat Anak Grogol". This school offers free education to homeless and street children in Grogol District, Jakarta.

Additionally, Jolene helps children in remote areas. She founded the "Nisnde Papua Foundation" in Nduga Regency, Papua Province. This foundation provides medical check-ups, vaccinations, and education in various subjects and technologies for children in these isolated communities.

Miss Celebrity Indonesia 2010

Jolene first entered the world of beauty pageants in 2010 when she was 14 years old. She joined the "Miss Celebrity Indonesia 2010" contest, representing Manado – North Sulawesi. In the final competition held in Jakarta, she won the 1st runner-up title and a special "Miss Photogenic" award.

Puteri Indonesia 2019

On International Women's Day, March 8, 2019, Jolene was crowned Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2019. This title also made her "Miss International Indonesia 2019". The event took place in Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. She represented North Sulawesi province and also received a special award as "Puteri Indonesia of Sulawesi Islands".

During the "Puteri Indonesia 2019" final, Jolene gave a speech about the idea of "stereotypical beauty" in modern society. She encouraged people to think beyond narrow beauty standards.

As "Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2019", Jolene was a speaker at the United Nations Environment Programme – Global Landscapes Forum in New York City, United States, on September 28, 2019.

Miss International 2019

After winning her national title, Jolene represented Indonesia at the Miss International 2019 beauty pageant. This big event was held in Tokyo, Japan, on November 12, 2019. Jolene performed very well and finished in the Top 8.
