Whiting features public art at its local church. The sculpture of John the Forerunner of Jesus is at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Joseph Slinkard and Pedro Teran created this limestone piece in 1955. It is about 165 inches tall.

Another limestone sculpture by Joseph Slinkard and Pedro Teran is Mary and the Child. It was also created in 1955. You can find it at the Marian Theatre Guild. This sculpture is about 15 feet tall.
