Martyna Wojciechowska (born 28 September 1974) is a famous Polish TV presenter, mountaineer, and traveler. She is also a journalist, sportswoman, and writer. In 2010, she achieved a huge goal by climbing the Seven Summits. These are the highest mountains on each continent. Martyna hosts a TV show called Kobieta na krańcu świata (Woman at the Edge of the World). She is also the editor-in-chief for National Geographic Poland.

Martyna's TV Career
Martyna Wojciechowska started her TV journey at age 19. She first worked as a presenter for a car show called "Automaniak" on TVN. Later, she hosted other popular shows like Big Brother and Mission Martyna.
Since 2009, she has presented her well-known weekly series, Woman at the Edge of the World. In 2007, she also became the main editor for National Geographic Poland. She also leads National Geographic Traveler and a travel magazine called Kaleidoscope.
Woman at the Edge of the World TV Show
This popular TV series began in 2008 and is still running. Each episode shows Martyna traveling to a different country. There, she meets a new woman and shares her story. The show also teaches viewers about the country and how women live there.
Sometimes, the show features men's stories too. Martyna has met many interesting people. These include the world's smallest woman, a female wrestler from Colombia, and a geisha from Kyoto. She also visited women of the Long Necks Tribe in Myanmar. Other episodes featured a female pilot from Tanzania and fa’afafine people from Samoa.
The Ghost People Documentary
In 2015, one episode of Woman at the Edge of the World became a longer film. Martyna Wojciechowska directed it with Marek Kłosowicz. The film, called The Ghost People (Ludzie duchy), won an award. It tells the story of albino children in Tanzania. These children are in danger because of harmful beliefs.
The main character is Kabula, a 17-year-old girl who lost her arm. Martyna started a special charity called ‘Between Heaven and Earth’. This charity helped Kabula get support to achieve her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Climbing the Seven Summits
In August 2002, Martyna began her amazing journey to climb the seven tallest mountains on Earth. She started with Mont Blanc. On January 22, 2010, she reached the top of her last mountain, Mount Carstensz. She became the third Polish woman to complete this challenge. Her adventure was shown in a documentary called Korona Ziemi (The Crown of Earth). She also wrote two books about it.
In 2004, Martyna had a serious car accident while filming in Iceland. Her friend and cameraman passed away, and Martyna broke her spine. She worked hard to recover. After a long therapy, she climbed Mount Everest in May 2006. She wrote about this experience in her book Przesunąć horyzont (Move the Horizon).
In 2007, Martyna climbed Mount Elbrus when she was pregnant. When her daughter was eight months old, she went to Antarctica. Her goal was to climb Vinson Massif, the continent's highest mountain. During the climb, a strong snowstorm hit. Martyna and her group were stuck in their tents for many hours in freezing temperatures.

Martyna's Personal Life
Martyna Wojciechowska has a daughter named Maria, born in 2008. Maria's father, Jerzy Blaszczyk, passed away in 2016. In 2015, people noticed Martyna had lost weight. She asked the media to respect her privacy about her health. She did not share details but said it was not malaria.
In 2016, Martyna had a motorcycle accident and broke her collarbone. She quickly returned to filming Woman at the Edge of the World. This caused more health problems, and she needed another operation. The new season of her show had to be delayed.
Martyna's Sports Career
Martyna Wojciechowska has been a licensed racing driver since she was 17. In 2002, she took part in the famous Paris – Dakar Rally. She was the first Polish woman and the first woman from Central-Eastern Europe to finish it.
Recognized as a Role Model
In 2018, the toy company Mattel created a special Barbie doll in Martyna's image. This "Shero" Barbie doll honored her for "breaking stereotypes and inspiring women and girls around the world." Martyna is one of only a few Polish women to have such a doll.
