A Look Back: Merryvale's School

Merryvale once had its own school! It was called Merryvale Provisional School. It first opened way back on September 10, 1894.

But it didn't stay open for long. It closed in 1904 because not enough students attended. The school building was then moved and reopened in 1906 as Franklyn Vale Provisional School. It closed again in 1915.

In 1922, the school building was moved back to Merryvale. It reopened as Merryvale State School. The school celebrated its 50th birthday in 1947. It closed for good in 1961.
