The Miss Idaho USA pageant is a fun competition held each year in Idaho. It's where young women compete to become the state's representative at the national Miss USA pageant. The winner of this competition gets the title of Miss Idaho USA. Since 2007, a company called Pageants NW Productions, located in Puyallup, Washington, has organized this event.
Idaho has had some great moments at the Miss USA pageant! The first time someone from Idaho placed well was in 1964. Dorothy Johnson became a semi-finalist, which was a big deal. Later, in 1997, Brandi Sherwood made history. She had already been Miss Idaho Teen USA and even Miss Teen USA in 1989. At Miss USA, she placed second. But then, the winner, Brook Lee, became Miss Universe. This meant Brandi became the first person to hold both the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA titles! After her pageant days, Brandi became an actress and a model on the TV show The Price Is Right.
In 2004, Kimberly Glyn Weible, who was Miss Idaho Teen USA in 1999, made it into the top 10 at Miss USA. Another Idaho contestant, Melissa Weber, placed in the top 15 in 2009. Idaho is also known for having many former Miss Teen USA contestants compete in the Miss Idaho USA pageant. Nine young women have done this, all from Idaho! Plus, three of these women have also competed in the Miss America pageant.
The current Miss Idaho USA is Hannah Menzner from Boise. She won her title on September 11, 2022, at an event in Post Falls, Idaho.
