Mounds View is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, in the United States. In 2020, about 13,249 people lived there. It's part of the larger Twin Cities area, which includes Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Major roads like U.S. Highway 10, County Road 10, and Interstate 35W help people travel through the city.

Exploring Mounds View's Geography
Mounds View covers about 4.12 square miles (10.7 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
A stream called Rice Creek runs through the southeast side of Mounds View.
The city is surrounded by other towns. These include Shoreview, Arden Hills, New Brighton, Fridley, Spring Lake Park, and Blaine. The border between Ramsey and Anoka counties is also very close by.
The History of Mounds View
The city of Mounds View is located in what was once called Mounds View Township. This township was first set up in 1858. One hundred years later, in 1958, the village of Mounds View officially became a city.
After World War II, the city grew a lot. This growth was partly because of the nearby Twin Cities Arsenal, which provided jobs.
Mounds View is mostly a place where people live. However, it also has several business areas and companies. Most businesses are found along the County Road 10 area. Homes are mostly located on either side of this road. Some well-known businesses here include Sysco Distributing and Mermaid Entertainment & Event.
In 1987, Mounds View was recognized as a Tree City USA. This means the city works hard to care for its trees and green spaces. It still holds this recognition today.
In 2005, the Mounds View City Council decided to sell the city's golf course, "The Bridges of Mounds View." It was sold to Medtronic, a large medical technology company. Medtronic built a new campus there, which opened in 2007. This new campus is in the northeast part of the city.
In June 2016, the city council voted to change the name of County Road 10 within the city limits to Mounds View Boulevard.
Before 1968, some old property documents in Mounds View had rules called "racial covenants." These rules tried to stop African Americans and other people of color from buying homes in certain areas. Today, these rules are not allowed and cannot be enforced. In 2024, the mayor announced a plan to help property owners remove these old rules from their deeds when they sell their homes.

In 2010, there were 12,155 people living in Mounds View. These people lived in 4,954 households, and 3,236 of these were families. The city had about 3,016 people per square mile.

Schools in Mounds View
Mounds View has several schools that help students learn and grow.
Calvin Academy, a private school, moved to the area in 1999. It focused on helping children with certain learning needs. The school closed by the end of 2005. Since 2014, the Mounds View Public Schools Area Learning Center has used that same building. This center helps students learn in different ways.
Other public schools in Mounds View include Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary School. Both of these schools are part of the Mounds View Public Schools district.
