Natalia Marisa Oreiro Iglesias (born on May 19, 1977) is a talented artist from Uruguay. She is a well-known actress, singer, songwriter, model, and TV host. Natalia first became famous for her roles in telenovelas, which are like long TV dramas.
Since 2008, she has mostly worked in movies. Natalia is also known for helping with social causes. She has worked with groups like Greenpeace and UNICEF. In 2011, UNICEF made her an ambassador for Argentina and Uruguay.
One of her most famous roles was Milagros Espósito in the TV show Muñeca Brava (1998–99). This show made her very popular around the world, especially in Eastern Europe and former Soviet countries. People even called her fans' excitement "Oreiromania"!

Natalia's Early Life
Natalia Oreiro was born on May 19, 1977, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Her parents are Carlos Florencio Oreiro Poggio and Mabel Cristina Iglesias Bourié. She has roots from Galicia in Spain and Italy. Natalia also has an older sister named Adriana.
When she was nine, her family moved to Málaga, Spain, for two years. Then they returned to Uruguay. Natalia started acting classes when she was eight years old. By age twelve, she was trying out for TV commercials. As a teenager, she appeared in more than 30 ads for big brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
Starting Her Career
First Steps in Acting and Music
At 16, Natalia moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. She wanted to become a star and started going to auditions. In 1993, she won a children's contest called El Show de Xuxa. She became an assistant on the show and represented its host, Xuxa, in different Latin American countries.
Natalia also worked as an MTV VJ. In 1995, she got a small role in the TV show Dulce Ana. The next year, she was cast in 90-60-90 modelos and performed on stage for the first time in the play Butterflies Are Free. In 1997, she got her first main role in the TV show Ricos y Famosos.
Becoming a Star
In 1998, Natalia starred in the Argentinian film Un Argentino en New York. After the movie, she released her first music album, also called Natalia Oreiro. Her song "Cambio Dolor" became the theme song for her next big TV show, Muñeca Brava (1998–1999). Natalia was nominated for a Martín Fierro Award for Best Actress for her role in Muñeca Brava.
In 2000, E! Entertainment Television named Natalia "Celebrity of the Century." She became very popular in Russia and Israel because of Muñeca Brava. She even performed many times in Israel and won awards there.

Releasing More Albums
Natalia continued her music career with her second album, Tu Veneno. She performed at big events in Spain and Miami. A major moment was her performance at the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile in 2000, where she was crowned Queen of the event. Her album Tu Veneno was nominated for a Latin Grammy award.
On June 1, 2002, her third album, Turmalina, was released. Natalia helped write some songs on this album. "Alas De Libertad" was inspired by children she met in Argentina. "Mar" told a love story. "Que Digan Lo Que Quieran" was the first song from the album. She also sang "Pasión Celeste," the official Uruguayan song for the 2002 World Cup.
In 2003, Natalia filmed her second movie, Cleopatra. She then went on a music tour in Eastern Europe and Latin America. In 2004, she started filming another TV show called El Deseo.
Big Screen and TV Roles
In 2006, Natalia starred in the TV show Sos mi vida. She played a female boxer named Esperanza Munoz. She acted alongside Facundo Arana, who was also in Muñeca Brava. This show became the most watched TV program in Argentina at the time.
In 2008, Natalia starred in Amanda O, which was the first TV show ever made for the internet in Argentina. Later that year, she acted in the film Las vidas posibles. In 2009, she starred in Música en espera, which was very popular. She also presented the film Francia at international film festivals.
In 2010, Natalia starred in the musical comedy film Miss Tacuarembó. She also sang all the songs for the movie's soundtrack. That same year, she hosted a show called Se dice de mí, which focused on women's rights.
In 2012, Natalia starred in the TV series Lynch. The same year, her film Clandestine Childhood was released. This movie was chosen to compete for an Oscar award. Natalia won awards for Best Actress for her role in this film. She also performed in Russia at a 90s music festival.

At the end of 2013, Natalia started a music tour in Eastern Europe called Nasha Natasha Tour Hits. "Nasha Natasha" means "Our Natasha" in Russian. She released a new song, a cover of Gloria Trevi's "Todos me miraran." In 2014, she toured 19 cities in Russia, performing 34 shows. One of her biggest concerts was in Moscow, where over 60,000 people came to see her. She even recorded a Russian version of her song "Me muero de amor" with Facundo Arana.
In 2015, she returned to TV in the drama series Entre caníbales. In 2016, Natalia starred in I'm Gilda, a film about the life of the Argentinian singer Gilda. The movie was very successful, and Natalia sang all the songs on its soundtrack. She won several awards for her role in I'm Gilda.

In 2017, Natalia performed at many festivals in Argentina. She also hosted the Platino Awards again. In 2018, her movie Super Crazy was released. She also released two songs for the 2018 FIFA World Cup held in Russia. In 2019, she went on her "Unforgettable Tour" with 14 concerts in Russia and other countries. She also received a "Career Achievement Award" in the United States.

In 2020, Natalia hosted Got Talent Uruguay, which was very popular. Netflix also released a documentary about her called Nasha Natasha. This film showed her special connection with Russia and some parts of her private life. In 2021, she filmed the series Yosi, the Regretful Spy. In 2022, she became the host of La Voz, the Uruguayan version of The Voice. She also starred in the film Las Rojas and played Eva Perón in the series Santa Evita.
In 2023, Natalia continued to host La Voz. She also starred in the romantic comedy film Casi muerta, where she plays a woman with a serious illness.
Natalia's Personal Life
In 2001, Natalia Oreiro started dating Argentine singer and musician Ricardo Mollo. He is famous for being a member of the rock bands Sumo and Divididos. They got married secretly on December 31 of that year.
On January 26, 2012, Natalia gave birth to their son, Merlín Atahualpa Mollo Oreiro, in Buenos Aires. On October 25, 2021, Natalia and her son also received Russian citizenship.
