Natalie Gumede (born 20 March 1984) is an English actress. She is well-known for her acting roles on television. Natalie played Kirsty Soames in the popular TV show Coronation Street from 2011 to 2013.
Before that, she was in the comedy show Ideal on BBC Three, where she played a character named China. Natalie has also appeared in other TV series like The Persuasionists, Emmerdale, and Doctor Who. In 2013, she was a runner-up on the dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One. From 2017 to 2019, Natalie also starred in the Netflix show Free Rein as Maggie Steel Phillips.

Early Life and Education
Natalie Gumede was born in Burnley, Lancashire, England. She spent her early years living in Colne. She went to Christ Church C of E Primary School. Later, she attended Park High School.
Natalie's father is from Zimbabwe, and her mother is English. Her grandfather, Josiah Zion Gumede, was once a president in a country called Zimbabwe-Rhodesia. When Natalie was 11, she helped present a part of the Children in Need charity show for the BBC. This was in 1995. She later studied acting at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
Acting Career Highlights
From 2004 to 2007, Natalie Gumede played China in the TV show Ideal. Her character was a regular client of Moz, the main character. She appeared in the first three seasons of the show.
In 2008, Natalie was in her first full-length movie, Clubbed. This British film was about a factory worker in the 1980s who became a club doorman. In 2005, Natalie also made a guest appearance in the TV soap opera Emmerdale. In 2010, she was in the sitcom The Persuasionists, which was about the world of advertising.
In September 2011, Natalie joined the cast of Coronation Street. She played the character Kirsty Soames. Natalie had tried out for another role in the show before, but she didn't get it. For her role as Kirsty, Natalie won the Best Newcomer award at the British Soap Awards in 2012. She was also nominated for other awards. She left Coronation Street in April 2013.
In 2015, Natalie played Bella in the ITV series Jekyll & Hyde.
Strictly Come Dancing
In 2013, Natalie Gumede competed on the eleventh series of Strictly Come Dancing. Her professional dance partner was Artem Chigvintsev. They quickly became favorites to win the competition. In the final, they finished as joint runners-up.
