Nicholas Andre Pinnock (born 2 September 1973) is a British actor. He is well-known for playing the main character, Aaron Wallace, in the American TV show For Life.

Early Life and Training
Nicholas Andre Pinnock was born in Roehampton, London. His family comes from Jamaica. When he was very young, he lived in Saudi Arabia.
When he came back to England at age 12, he joined the Corona Stage Academy in Hammersmith, London. Right away, he started working as a model and child actor. He appeared in adverts, music videos, films, and TV shows. Later, he went to the London Studio Centre for three years to study musical theatre. After his first year, he realized he loved acting the most. So, he spent the rest of his time there focusing on drama and modern dance.
After finishing his studies, Pinnock joined a dance group called the Featherstonehaughs for a few years. Then, he decided to become a full-time actor.
Acting Career Highlights
In 1986, when he was still a child, Nicholas Pinnock starred in a fantasy TV show called Mr Magus is Waiting for You. It was about four kids who met a mysterious magician. A year later, he became one of The Pink Windmill Kids on Emu's World on CITV.
As a young adult, he often performed in pantomime shows. He also had guest roles in many popular TV shows. These included Grange Hill, EastEnders, The Bill, Dalziel and Pascoe, Footballers' Wives, and Casualty. He also appeared in TV films like Kingdom of The Blind and Diamonds.
Pinnock also performed in plays, such as As You Like It at the Staffordshire Shakespeare Festival. He was also in Born Bad and San Diego. In 2009, he appeared in Topdog/Underdog in Glasgow.
Hollywood and TV Roles
In 2011, Pinnock was in his first big Hollywood movie, Captain America: The First Avenger. He played a SHIELD Tech. That same year, he played Leon in the four-part drama Top Boy on Channel 4. After the 2011 England riots in London, he appeared in a BBC show called The Riots: In Their Own Words, The Rioters. The next year, he played Evan in the ITV drama The Ice Cream Girls.
In 2013, Pinnock played a young Nelson Mandela in the ITV show Mandela: The Prison Years. This show aired on the day Mandela was buried.
In 2015, he played Frank Sutter in Fortitude on Sky Atlantic. He also appeared in two films: Monsters: Dark Continent, where he played Forrest, and The Keeping Room, where he played Bill. In November 2015, he acted in the play The Royale in London.
In 2016, Pinnock played Jason Backland in the crime drama Marcella for two seasons. He then appeared as Ian Shaw in Counterpart, a science fiction thriller that started in 2017. In September 2019, Pinnock was in the first season of Criminal: UK on Netflix.
Main Role in For Life
Pinnock was chosen for the main role of Aaron Wallace in For Life. This American legal drama was created by Hank Steinberg and produced by 50 Cent. The show was inspired by the real-life story of Isaac Wright Jr.. Isaac Wright Jr. was wrongly sent to prison for life, but he managed to prove his innocence and became a defense lawyer. The show started on ABC in 2020 and ran for two seasons.
More recently, in 2022, he was cast in Jeymes Samuel's film The Book of Clarence. Pinnock also played John Ellis in Django, a TV series from 2023 for Sky and Canal+. He acted alongside Noomi Rapace and Matthias Schoenaerts.
In 2024, Pinnock was cast in This Town, a six-part British TV series for BBC One. He also joined the cast of Hedda, an upcoming American drama film based on the play Hedda Gabler.
Awards and Recognition
In December 2022, Nicholas Pinnock won the Best Actor award at the British Urban Film Festival in London.
Charity Work
Nicholas Pinnock is an ambassador for Mind UK, a charity that helps people with mental health issues.
