What Shows are on Nicktoons?
Nicktoons has shown almost all of the Nickelodeon series since it started. Even though its name is "Nicktoons," it doesn't only show cartoons. The channel also airs some of Nickelodeon's live-action shows. Examples include The Thundermans and Henry Danger.
Over time, Nickelodeon started moving newer shows to the Nicktoons channel. This meant that older Nicktoons, like Hey Arnold! and The Ren and Stimpy Show, were taken off the schedule. However, Rugrats still aired sometimes. As of August 2020, Nicktoons mostly shows newer cartoons. It also airs reruns of popular shows like SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents.
NickSports: A Block for Sports Fans
On September 3, 2014, Nicktoons launched a special block of shows called NickSports. This block aired on Wednesday evenings for two hours. It was connected to the 2014 Kids' Choice Sports awards that started that year.
NickSports mainly showed programs about sports. This included shows like Wild Grinders (starring Rob Dyrdek) and NFL Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core. Even SpongeBob SquarePants had sports-related episodes shown. The block also featured sports movies such as Bend It Like Beckham, Cool Runnings, and Space Jam. In 2015, NickSports moved to Friday evenings. The block stopped airing in September 2018.
