Norman Alden (born Norman Adelberg, September 13, 1924 – July 27, 2012) was an American actor. He was known for playing many different characters in TV shows and movies. Norman Alden started his acting career in 1957. It lasted for almost 50 years!
He was also a voice actor. He voiced Sir Kay in Disney's The Sword in the Stone (1963). He also voiced Kranix and Arblus in The Transformers: The Movie (1986). Norman Alden stopped acting in 2006. He passed away in 2012 when he was 87 years old.

Early Life and Education
Norman Alden was born in Fort Worth, Texas. His parents were Ben and Esther Adelberg. During World War II, he served in the United States Army.
After the war, he went to Texas Christian University. He used the GI Bill of Rights to help pay for his studies. He developed some of his acting skills there. He took part in the university's theater programs. Norman Alden had two children.
Acting Career Highlights
Norman Alden appeared in many television series during the 1950s and 1960s. He often played different characters in various shows. For example, he was in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. He also appeared in Hennesey as Seaman Pulaski.
He played Corporal Lucius Grundy in Not for Hire. He was also in the NBC crime drama The Lawless Years. In 1961, he acted in the western series Bronco. He also appeared in Lawman.
In 1967, he played Captain Horton in the sitcom Rango. He had a small part in an Adam-12 episode in 1973. He played a police captain in the 1988 TV movie Man Against the Mob.
Voice Acting and Other Roles
Norman Alden was the voice of Sir Kay in the 1963 Disney movie The Sword in the Stone. He also voiced Kranix in The Transformers: The Movie (1986). He was the voice of Hank, the ringmaster, in the animated series Devlin.
He played Coach Leroy Fedder in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. He was also the AC Delco repairman, Lou the Mechanic, in many commercials. He played Professor Frank Heflin in Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. He even voiced both Aquaman and Green Arrow in Super Friends.
Alden appeared in two episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He was Major Truman Landon in the movie Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970). In 1976, he played Big Daddy Dawson on the TV series Alice. He was also in an episode of Dallas.
He appeared in The Dukes of Hazzard as Chief Lacey. He was Lou Caruthers in Back to the Future (1985). He played Bill, the color-blind cameraman, in Tim Burton's Ed Wood (1994). He also played a henchman in two episodes of Batman in 1966.
Later Years and Passing
Norman Alden retired from acting in 2006. He passed away from natural causes on July 27, 2012. He was 87 years old. He died in Los Angeles, California.
