Where is Pacific Pines?
Pacific Pines is situated in Queensland, Australia. It lies between a big highway called the Pacific Motorway (M1) and the northern side of the Nerang State Forest. This means it's close to both major roads and natural bushland areas.
How Pacific Pines Started
In 1990, a company named Stockland bought a very large piece of land. It was about 800 hectares, which is like 2,000 football fields! They planned to build many homes there, enough for 5,800 houses.
On September 9, 1994, Pacific Pines was officially named a neighbourhood. It was part of the suburb of Gaven at first. The company that developed the land suggested the name Pacific Pines. Later, on February 7, 2003, it became its own separate suburb.
Many schools opened in Pacific Pines as the community grew:
- Pacific Pines State High School opened on January 1, 2000.
- Jubilee Primary School opened in January 2001.
- Pacific Pines State School opened on January 1, 2002.
- Park Lake State School opened on January 1, 2008. It started with 212 students.
