Palmview is a place in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, Australia. It used to be mostly farms and open land. Now, it is becoming more like a town with lots of houses.

In 2021, about 5,236 people lived in Palmview. It is also home to Aussie World, a popular theme park.

Palmview's Location and Landscape

Palmview is crossed by the Bruce Highway. This big road comes into Palmview from the south-west. It then leaves towards the north-west.

Some parts of Palmview have houses on large blocks of land. Other areas in the west are still empty. In the north-east, there are more houses close together. The eastern parts of Palmview are mostly used for grazing animals.

Palmview's History and Growth

The land where Palmview is located belongs to the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi). They are the traditional Aboriginal owners of this country.

Long ago, Palmview was known for logging trees and farming. Over time, it changed. Smaller properties appeared west of the Bruce Highway. A large, planned housing area called Harmony was built to the east.

New Schools for Palmview

In 2020, work began on Palmview State Primary School. It cost $63.8 million to build. The school opened on January 27, 2021, for students from Prep to Year 6. It started with 201 students.

Palmview State Special School also started being built in 2020. It opened in January 2021. This school is right next to the primary school.

Palmview State Secondary College opened in early 2023. It welcomed students in Years 7 and 8. The school will add one new year level each year. By 2027, it will teach students from Year 7 to Year 12.

The number of people living in Palmview has grown a lot.

In 2016, there were 893 people living in Palmview. By 2021, the population had increased to 5,236 people.

This is a government primary school for students from Prep to Year 6. It is located at 31 College Drive. In 2022, about 360 students attended the school.

This is a government school for students with special needs. It teaches students from Prep to Year 12. The school is located at 49 College Drive. In 2022, it had 56 students.

This is a government high school for boys and girls. It is found at 17 Village Green Boulevard. In 2023, the school only offered Years 7 and 8.

If students need to go to high school up to Year 12, they can attend nearby schools. These include Chancellor State College in Sippy Downs or Meridan State College in Meridan Plains.
