The British rock band Queen has released many albums and songs. They have 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, and 16 compilation albums. They also released two soundtrack albums, two extended plays (EPs), and 73 singles.

Queen started in London in 1970. The original members were Freddie Mercury (vocals), Brian May (guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums). In 1971, John Deacon (bassist) joined the band.

Since the 1970s, Queen has sold over 300 million records worldwide. This makes them one of the best-selling music artists ever. Billboard magazine called them the 87th Greatest Artist of All Time. In the US, Queen has sold over 86 million certified records.

Queen released their first album, Queen, in 1973. It wasn't an instant hit. But their second album, Queen II (1974), quickly made them popular in Britain. Their song "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1975) was a huge success. It was the No. 1 song in the UK for nine weeks. It became No. 1 again in 1991 after Freddie Mercury passed away. This song is the third-biggest-selling single in UK history.

In the US, "Bohemian Rhapsody" reached the Billboard Top 40 charts in three different decades. It hit No. 9 in 1975 when it first came out. It reached No. 2 in 1992 after being in the movie Wayne's World. It returned to the Top 40 in 2018 because of the Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody.

Queen's 1981 album, Greatest Hits, is the best-selling album in UK history. It sold 6 million copies by 2014. Their 1991 album, Greatest Hits II, is also one of the UK's top ten best-sellers. It sold 3.8 million copies by 2012.

Queen signed a production deal with Trident Studios in 1972. Later, they signed with EMI and Elektra in the US. They stayed with EMI for their whole career. In the US, they later signed with Capitol Records and then with Disney's Hollywood Records. Hollywood Records now owns and distributes all of Queen's music in North America.

In 1991, Hollywood Records re-released all of Queen's music on CD in the US. Many albums were also re-released in the UK and worldwide in 2011. This was to celebrate Queen's 40th anniversary and 20 years since Freddie Mercury's passing. These 2011 re-releases were by Universal's Island Records.

In 2012, Queen was ranked as the seventh-biggest-selling singles artist in the UK. They had sold 12.6 million singles. Between 1991 and 1995, Queen sold five million copies in Italy alone.
