Rau'shee Warren (born February 13, 1987) is an American professional boxer. He held the WBA (Undisputed) and IBO bantamweight titles from 2016 to 2017. Before becoming a professional, he was a very successful amateur boxer. He won a gold medal at the 2007 World Championships. He also earned bronze medals at the 2005 and 2011 World Championships. All these achievements were in the flyweight division.

Rau'shee Warren's Amateur Boxing Journey
Rau'shee Warren started his boxing journey as an amateur. He showed great promise from a young age.
Early Olympic Experience
In 2004, when he was just 17 years old, Rau'shee qualified for the Athens Olympics. He was the youngest boxer at the games. He was also the youngest American male athlete in any sport there. He competed in the light flyweight division. In his first Olympic fight, he was eliminated by Zou Shiming from China.
Becoming a US Champion
After the 2004 Olympics, Rau'shee moved up to the flyweight division. He quickly became a top boxer in the United States. He won the US championship in both 2005 and 2006.
At the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Mianyang, China, he won a bronze medal. He defeated European champion Georgy Balakshin in a rematch. However, he lost to Lee Ok-Sung from Korea. In 2006, Rau'shee was named USA Boxing's Athlete of the Year. He also tried fighting as a bantamweight that year.
World Championship Gold
In 2007, Rau'shee returned to the flyweight division. He won the US championship again. Later that year, he competed at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago. He had a fantastic tournament. He beat Georgy Balakshin and Samir Mammadov to reach the finals. In the final match, he defeated Somjit Jongjohor from Thailand. This win earned him a gold medal.
Multiple Olympic Appearances
Rau'shee made history in 2008. He became the first American boxer in over 30 years to compete in two Olympic Games. This was a rare achievement. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he faced Lee Ok-Sung again. He lost in the first round in a very close and debated decision.
He continued his amateur career. In 2011, he won another bronze medal at the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships. This secured his spot in a third Olympics. Competing in three Olympics is very rare for an American boxer. At the London Olympics in 2012, Rau'shee lost in the first round. He was defeated by Nordine Oubaali of France in a close fight.
World Series of Boxing Record
Rau'shee also competed in the World Series of Boxing (WSB). This was a team-based boxing competition. He had a perfect record in the WSB.
Rau'shee Warren's Professional Boxing Career
After a long and successful amateur career, Rau'shee Warren became a professional boxer. His first professional fight was on November 9, 2012. He won this fight by a unanimous decision.
Chasing World Titles
Rau'shee won many of his early professional fights. In 2015, he fought for his first world championship titles. These were the WBA (Undisputed) and IBO bantamweight titles. He lost this fight in a very close split decision to Juan Carlos Payano.
However, Rau'shee got a chance for a rematch with Payano on June 18, 2016. This time, he won the fight by a majority decision. This victory made him the WBA and IBO bantamweight champion.
Defending and Losing Titles
Rau'shee's first defense of his titles was against Zhanat Zhakiyanov. He lost this fight by split decision. This meant he no longer held the WBA and IBO bantamweight titles.
In 2017, Rau'shee fought McJoe Arroyo. This was an important fight to decide who would get a chance at the IBF super flyweight title. Rau'shee won this fight clearly. He then had another strong performance against Juan Gabriel Medina, winning every round.
Later Career Fights
On January 19, 2019, Rau'shee faced Nordine Oubaali for the vacant WBC bantamweight title. This was a rematch from their amateur days. Oubaali won the fight by unanimous decision.
Rau'shee continued to fight. On February 15, 2020, he had a dominant win over Gilberto Mendoza. He won comfortably on all scorecards. He also won fights in 2021 against Sharone Carter and Damien Vázquez. His most recent fight was on August 20, 2022, where he lost to Francisco Pedroza Portillo.
