All these achievements were in the flyweight division.

Rau'shee Warren's Amateur Boxing Journey

Rau'shee Warren started his boxing journey as an amateur. He showed great promise from a young age.

Early Olympic Experience

In 2004, when he was just 17 years old, Rau'shee qualified for the Athens Olympics. He was the youngest boxer at the games. He was also the youngest American male athlete in any sport there. He competed in the light flyweight division. In his first Olympic fight, he was eliminated by Zou Shiming from China.

Becoming a US Champion

After the 2004 Olympics, Rau'shee moved up to the flyweight division. He quickly became a top boxer in the United States. He won the US championship in both 2005 and 2006.

At the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Mianyang, China, he won a bronze medal. He defeated European champion Georgy Balakshin in a rematch. However, he lost to Lee Ok-Sung from Korea. In 2006, Rau'shee was named USA Boxing's Athlete of the Year. He also tried fighting as a bantamweight that year.

World Championship Gold

In 2007, Rau'shee returned to the flyweight division. He won the US championship again. Later that year, he competed at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago. He had a fantastic tournament. He beat Georgy Balakshin and Samir Mammadov to reach the finals. In the final match, he defeated Somjit Jongjohor from Thailand. This win earned him a gold medal.

Multiple Olympic Appearances

Rau'shee made history in 2008. He became the first American boxer in over 30 years to compete in two Olympic Games. This was a rare achievement. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he faced Lee Ok-Sung again. He lost in the first round in a very close and debated decision.

He continued his amateur career. In 2011, he won another bronze medal at the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships. This secured his spot in a third Olympics. Competing in three Olympics is very rare for an American boxer. At the London Olympics in 2012, Rau'shee lost in the first round. He was defeated by Nordine Oubaali of France in a close fight.

World Series of Boxing Record

Rau'shee also competed in the World Series of Boxing (WSB). This was a team-based boxing competition. He had a perfect record in the WSB.
