Roxy Bernstein, whose full name is Allen Samuel Bernstein, was born on September 25, 1972. He is a well-known American sportscaster. A sportscaster is someone who reports on sports events, often on TV or radio. Roxy works for big sports channels like ESPN and the Pac-12 Network. He also broadcasts games for the Oakland Athletics, a professional baseball team.

Early Life and School
Roxy Bernstein was born in San Francisco, California. He grew up nearby on the Peninsula in the Bay Area.
After finishing high school at Pinewood School in Los Altos, Roxy went to college. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, also known as Cal. He earned a degree in American Studies there.
Broadcasting at College
While at Cal, Roxy started his broadcasting career. He announced games for football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball. He was also the sports director for the student radio station, KALX (FM).
Cal hired Roxy to be the main voice for their basketball team when he was just 23. Before that, he had been a backup announcer and hosted pre-game and post-game shows.
Roxy's Sports Broadcasting Career
Roxy Bernstein is a busy play-by-play broadcaster. This means he describes the action of a game as it happens. As of 2025, he works for ESPN, the Pac-12 Network, and the Oakland Athletics. He covers college basketball, college football, and professional hockey (NHL).
Past Roles and Teams
Roxy was the main voice for the California Golden Bears men's basketball team until 2012. He had held that job since 1997. He also announced national college football games for the Touchdown Radio Network. He worked with Gino Torretta, a famous football player.
Since 2014, Roxy has been a part-time broadcaster for the Oakland Athletics. He has also hosted sports talk shows on radio stations in San Francisco. One show was on KGMZ 95.7 FM The Game. Another was on Xtra Sports 860/Sports Byline. He also hosted a weekly radio show about the St. Mary's College of California men's basketball coach, Randy Bennett.
In 2008-2009, Roxy was considered for a TV announcer job for the San Diego Padres baseball team. He was one of the top two choices, but he did not get the position. In August 2009, he was the host for the opening ceremonies of the San Francisco Maccabi Games. Roxy himself had played in these games when he was younger.
Major League Baseball and Other Sports
Roxy spent three years broadcasting for the Florida Marlins baseball team (2005–2007). He worked with Dave Van Horne, another famous announcer. Roxy left the Marlins to move back to the Bay Area full-time.
Before working with the Marlins, Roxy announced games for other Major League Baseball teams. These included the San Francisco Giants and the Montreal Expos. He also worked for many minor league baseball teams.

Roxy Bernstein announced the final game for the Pac-12 Network before it closed. He announced over 300 games with Bill Walton, a famous basketball player and announcer. Bill Walton passed away in 2024.
