Ryan Anthony Perrilloux (born January 1, 1987) is an American former professional football quarterback. He played in several leagues, including the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). Ryan also played college football for LSU and Jacksonville State.

Early Life and High School Football
Ryan Perrilloux grew up in Reserve, Louisiana. He played high school football at East St. John High School. Ryan had an amazing high school career. He gained 12,705 total yards, which is second all-time in Louisiana. This included 9,025 passing yards and 3,680 rushing yards.
Ryan scored 155 touchdowns in high school. He had 84 passing touchdowns and 71 rushing touchdowns. In his senior year, he set a Louisiana high school record. He gained 5,006 total yards of offense. This included 3,546 passing yards and 1,460 rushing yards.
Top High School Player
Many experts thought Ryan was the best quarterback prospect in 2005. They said he had a strong arm and was very accurate. He won the 2004 Hall Trophy. This award goes to the best high school football player in the nation. USA Today named him "Offensive Player of the Year."
He also received other awards. These included Louisiana's Mr. Football and Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year. Ryan was invited to special camps. These were the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Multi-Sport Athlete
Ryan was a talented athlete in high school. He played three different sports. He was a small forward for the basketball team. He also played centerfield for the baseball team.
College Recruitment
Many colleges wanted Ryan to play for them. Louisiana State University (LSU) and the University of Texas at Austin were the top choices. In July 2004, Ryan first said he would go to Texas. He planned to join another top quarterback, Colt McCoy.
However, Ryan changed his mind. He decided to attend LSU. This was a big deal for the new LSU coach, Les Miles. Ryan was seen as a key player for LSU's recruiting class. At a news conference, Ryan famously joked about the current LSU quarterback, JaMarcus Russell.
College Football Career
LSU Tigers
Freshman and Sophomore Seasons
Ryan started his college career at LSU in 2005. He did not play in his first year. This is called a redshirt season. It allowed him to learn the team's offense. In 2006, he played very little. He was the third-string quarterback.
In 2007, Ryan competed to be the starting quarterback. He lost the spot to Matt Flynn. However, Ryan got his first start on September 15. This was because Matt Flynn was injured. Ryan played well, throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns. LSU won the game 44–0.
Later in 2007, Ryan started again in the SEC Championship Game. This was against Tennessee. He replaced an injured Matt Flynn. Ryan completed 20 of 30 passes for 243 yards. He led LSU to a 21–14 victory. He was named the player of the game. This win helped LSU reach the BCS National Championship Game. LSU went on to win the national championship that season. Ryan finished the 2007 season with 694 passing yards and eight touchdowns.
Leaving LSU
In February 2008, Coach Miles suspended Ryan. This was for breaking team rules. In May 2008, Ryan was removed from the team. This was because he did not meet his responsibilities as a student-athlete.
Jacksonville State Gamecocks
Ryan transferred to Jacksonville State University in May 2008. He was able to play right away. He started his first game for Jacksonville State on August 28, 2008.
In his first season at Jacksonville State, Ryan led the team to an 8–3 record. He completed 174 passes for 2,199 yards. He also threw 19 touchdowns. He earned several weekly awards during the season.
Ryan decided to return for his senior season in 2009. He was suspended at the start of the 2009 season for breaking team rules. However, he played very well after returning. He had one of the best passer ratings in college football. He threw for 961 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 125 yards and three scores. Ryan was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2009.

Professional Football Career
After college, Ryan Perrilloux was not chosen in the 2010 NFL draft. The Minnesota Vikings gave him a tryout, but did not sign him.
United Football League and NFL
In 2010, Ryan signed with the Hartford Colonials in the United Football League. In 2011, he signed a contract with the New York Giants. He was part of the Giants' team that won Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. He was released and re-signed to the practice squad several times during 2011 and 2012. He was released for the final time by the Giants before the 2012 season.
Other Leagues
After his time in the NFL, Ryan played for other football leagues. In 2013, he played for the Florida Tarpons in the Ultimate Indoor Football League. He then signed with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League in May 2013. He was released from the Stampeders in September 2013.
In 2014, Ryan joined the New Orleans VooDoo in the Arena Football League. He threw for 936 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for nine touchdowns that season. In 2016, Ryan played for the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes in France. His team reached the league semifinal game. In 2019, he signed with the Baton Rouge RedSticks. This team was part of the National Gridiron League. Their season was postponed.
