Ryan Anthony Perrilloux (born January 1, 1987) is an American former professional football quarterback. He played in several leagues, including the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). Ryan also played in the Arena Football League (AFL) and in France. He played college football for the LSU and Jacksonville State teams.

Ryan Perrilloux's Early Life and High School Football

Ryan Perrilloux grew up in Reserve, Louisiana. He played high school football at East St. John High School. He had an amazing high school career. He gained 12,705 total yards, which is one of the best in state history. This included 9,025 passing yards and 3,680 rushing yards.

Ryan scored 155 touchdowns during his four years in high school. He had 84 passing touchdowns and 71 rushing touchdowns. In his senior year, he set a Louisiana high school record. He gained 5,006 total yards of offense.

Top High School Quarterback

Many experts thought Ryan was the best quarterback prospect in 2005. They said he had a strong arm and was very accurate. He won the 2004 Hall Trophy, which is for the best high school football player in the nation. USA Today named him "Offensive Player of the Year."

He also received other awards, like Louisiana's Mr. Football. Ryan was invited to special camps for top quarterbacks. He also played basketball and baseball in high school.

Choosing a College Team

As a top football player, many colleges wanted Ryan to play for them. The Louisiana State University (LSU) and the University of Texas at Austin were the main choices. In 2004, Ryan first said he would go to Texas.

But later, he decided to play for LSU. This was a big deal for LSU's new coach, Les Miles. Ryan was seen as a key player for their team.

First Years at LSU

Ryan joined LSU in 2005. He did not play in games during his first year. This is called "redshirting." It allowed him to learn the team's plays.

In 2006, Ryan had limited playing time. He was the third-string quarterback. He completed one pass during the season.

Sophomore Season Highlights

In 2007, Ryan competed to become LSU's starting quarterback. He eventually became the backup to Matt Flynn. On September 15, Ryan started his first game for LSU. He played against Middle Tennessee. He threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. LSU won the game 44–0.

On December 1, Ryan started his second game. This was the SEC Championship Game against Tennessee. He played well, completing 20 of 30 passes for 243 yards. He led LSU to a 21–14 victory. Ryan was named the player of the game. This win helped LSU reach the BCS National Championship Game. LSU went on to win the national championship that season. Ryan finished the season with 694 passing yards and eight touchdowns.

In February 2008, Ryan was not playing with the team for a period. In May 2008, he left the LSU team.

Playing for Jacksonville State

In May 2008, Ryan moved to Jacksonville State University. He was able to play right away. He started his first game for Jacksonville State on August 28, 2008.

After a first game loss, Ryan led Jacksonville State to a good season. They finished with 8 wins and 3 losses. He completed 174 passes for 2,199 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also won weekly awards for his performance.

In 2009, Ryan decided to play his senior season. He had a great year, throwing for 961 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 125 yards and three scores. Ryan was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2009.

Ryan Perrilloux's Professional Football Career

After college, Ryan was not chosen in the 2010 NFL Draft. This is called going "undrafted." The Minnesota Vikings invited him for a tryout, but he did not sign with them.

He then played for the Hartford Colonials in the United Football League in 2010. In 2011, Ryan signed with the New York Giants. He was part of their practice squad for some time. He was released and re-signed several times by the Giants. He was with the Giants when they won Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.

After his time in the NFL, Ryan played for other teams. In 2013, he played for the Florida Tarpons. He also signed with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 2014, he joined the New Orleans VooDoo in the Arena Football League (AFL). For the VooDoo, he threw for 936 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for nine touchdowns. In 2016, Ryan played football in France for the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes. The team reached the league semifinal game. In 2019, he signed with the Baton Rouge RedSticks.
