Bisse de Savièse, a historic water channel

One of Savièse's special historical sites is the Torrent-Neuf. This is a type of canal pound, or water channel, that was first built way back in 1430! It was used to carry water for many years.

After being repaired many times, it was finally closed in 1934. However, in 2005, the town of Savièse and a group called the Association pour la sauvegarde du Torrent-Neuf worked together to fix it up. Now, the Torrent-Neuf is a popular tourist attraction in Savièse, where visitors can learn about its history and enjoy the beautiful views.
