How Skurnik Wines & Spirits Started
Skurnik Wines & Spirits was created in 1987 by Michael Skurnik. Michael first worked as a sommelier (a wine expert) at a restaurant called Windows on the World. Later, he started selling wine for other companies.
In 1989, Michael's brother, Harmon Skurnik, joined the company. Harmon had worked in marketing and advertising for ten years before that.
Today, Michael and Harmon Skurnik run the company together. Michael is the chief executive officer, and Harmon is the president.
In the summer of 2014, Skurnik moved its main offices to Manhattan, New York. They also changed the company's name from Michael Skurnik Wines to Skurnik Wines. This change showed that the whole family was involved in the business.

Skurnik Wines & Spirits has a huge collection of over 800 different brands. These drinks come from many countries around the world. The company is especially known for its excellent selection of Champagne (a type of sparkling wine), wines from Burgundy (France), California, Austria, and Germany.
Skurnik also offers many different kinds of spirits. These include tequila, El Dorado Rum, armagnac, brandy, cognac, gin, vermouth, bourbon whiskey, and calvados. They also have special fruit brandies called eaux-de-vie from Hans Reisetbauer.
In 2017, Skurnik started offering drinks from Japan. This included special Japanese sake and shochu.
In 2018, they added British farmhouse ciders to their collection. These ciders come from the oldest cider apple growing regions in the world. This shows how popular these traditional ciders have become.
