Strafford is a town located in Orange County, Vermont, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,094 people lived there.
Strafford became a town on August 12, 1761. It was officially created by a special document called a royal charter. This charter was given by King George III of Great Britain to Governor Benning Wentworth. The town was named after the Earl of Strafford. Its historic town house is very well-known in Vermont. It sits on a hill at the end of the town common.
In 2011, Hurricane Irene caused major flooding. Strafford was one of thirteen towns in Vermont that became cut off because of the floodwaters.

- Denny Emerson is another famous equestrian.
- Doc Hazelton played major league baseball and later became a college coach.
- Noah Kahan is an American singer-songwriter.
- Barbara Moraff was an American poet.
- Justin Smith Morrill was a very important person from Strafford. He served as a US congressman and senator. He is famous for writing the Land Grant College Acts. These laws helped create many colleges across the United States. His old home, the Justin Smith Morrill Homestead, is now a historic site in Vermont.
