Tammy Abraham (born 2 October 1997) is an English professional footballer. He plays as a striker for Süper Lig club Beşiktaş. He is currently on loan from Serie A club Roma.

Tammy started his career at the Chelsea academy. He made his first team debut in 2016. He then spent time on loan at other clubs. These included Bristol City, Swansea City, and Aston Villa. He won awards and scored many goals during these loans.

He returned to Chelsea in 2019 and helped them win the UEFA Champions League. In 2021, he moved to Italian club Roma. There, he won the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League. Tammy has also played for England's youth teams. He made his debut for the senior England team in 2017.

Starting at Chelsea

Youth Team Success (2004–2016)

Tammy Abraham joined Chelsea when he was only eight years old. He grew up playing through the club's youth system. He was a key player in the Chelsea youth team. They won the UEFA Youth League twice in a row. They also won the FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016.

In the 2015–16 UEFA Youth League, Tammy scored eight goals. This made him one of the top scorers in the tournament. He also scored the winning goal in the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City. Overall, he scored an amazing 74 goals in 98 youth matches.

His great performance caught the eye of the first team manager. Tammy made his Chelsea debut in May 2016. He played in a Premier League match against Liverpool.

Loan to Bristol City (2016–17)

In August 2016, Tammy joined Bristol City on loan. He played in the EFL Championship. He scored on his debut for the club. He quickly became a star player for them.

Tammy scored two goals in a match against Burton Albion. He scored the winning goal in the last minute. He was named Championship Player of the Month in September. He also won the EFL Young Player of the Month award.

He finished the season with 23 goals. This was the second-highest in the league. He also won three awards for Bristol City. He was named Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Top Goalscorer. He was the first player to win all three in one season.

Loan to Swansea City (2017–18)

After his success, Tammy signed a new contract with Chelsea. He then joined Swansea City on loan for the 2017–18 season. Swansea played in the Premier League. He scored his first Premier League goal against Crystal Palace.

He also scored two goals against Huddersfield Town. This helped Swansea get their first home win of the season. The team struggled later in the season. Swansea was unfortunately relegated from the Premier League. Tammy scored eight goals in 39 games for Swansea.

Loan to Aston Villa (2018–19)

In August 2018, Tammy went on loan to Aston Villa. They were also in the Championship. He scored on his home debut against Rotherham United. In November, he scored four goals in one match. This was a thrilling 5–5 draw against Nottingham Forest. He was the first Aston Villa player to score four goals in a game in the 21st century.

He was named Championship Player of the Month for November. By the end of the year, he had scored 16 goals. He became the first Villa player since 1933 to score in seven home games in a row. He also became the first player since 1981 to score 20 goals in a single season for the club.

Tammy scored 25 goals in the season. This made him the first Villa player to do so since 1977. He helped Aston Villa get promoted back to the Premier League. He scored one goal in the play-off semi-final. He finished the season with 26 goals in 40 games.

Return to Chelsea (2019–2021)

Tammy returned to Chelsea for the 2019–20 season. He was given the number 9 shirt. He scored his first Chelsea goals with two goals against Norwich City. The next month, he scored his first Chelsea hat-trick against Wolves. He was the youngest player to score three goals in a Premier League match for Chelsea.

In the 2020–21 season, Tammy continued to score important goals. He scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Luton Town. He became the first English player since Frank Lampard to score an FA Cup hat-trick for Chelsea. He also helped Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League. This was a huge achievement for the club.

Moving to Roma

Success in Italy (2021–2023)

In August 2021, Tammy Abraham signed with Serie A club Roma in Italy. He quickly made an impact. He assisted two goals in his first Serie A game. He scored his first goal for Roma in a 4–0 win against Salernitana.

He scored 17 goals in his first Serie A season. This was a record for an English player. He also helped Roma win the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League. This was a big trophy for the club.

In the 2022–23 season, Tammy continued to play for Roma. He scored a late goal against Milan to earn a 2–2 draw. He also played in the Europa League final. Roma lost the final on penalties. Towards the end of the season, he suffered a serious knee injury.

Injury and Recovery (2023–2024)

After his knee injury, Tammy worked hard to recover. He returned to playing in April 2024. He scored his only goal of the 2023–24 season against Napoli. He made 12 appearances after his return.

Loan to AC Milan (2024–2025)

In August 2024, Tammy joined fellow Serie A club AC Milan on loan. He scored his first goal for Milan from a penalty in September. In October, he missed a penalty kick in a match against Fiorentina. His manager spoke to him about the incident.

In January 2025, he scored a late goal to help Milan win the Supercoppa Italiana final. In February, he scored two goals against his parent club Roma. This helped Milan win in the Coppa Italia.

Loan to Beşiktaş (2025–2026)

In July 2025, Beşiktaş announced that Tammy Abraham was joining them on loan. He completed his medical examinations for the move.

International Career

Representing England's Youth Teams

Tammy Abraham played for England's national youth teams. He represented the under-18 and under-19 teams. He scored his first youth goals for England in March 2015. He scored two goals against Switzerland.

In a friendly game against Japan, Tammy and his teammate Patrick Roberts played rock paper scissors to decide who would take a penalty. Tammy won, but he missed the shot. However, Roberts then helped him score a minute later.

He was part of the England U19 squad for the European Championship in 2016. He also played for the England U21 team. He helped them qualify for the U21 European Championships. He scored two goals in a 5–0 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2017, he played in the U21 European Championship in Poland. He scored his only goal in the semi-final against Germany. England lost the match after a penalty shoot-out. Tammy was one of the players who missed his penalty.

In 2018, he was part of the England under-20 team for the Toulon Tournament in France. He scored the winning goal in a 2–1 win over China. England went on to win their third title in a row.

Playing for Senior England Team

Tammy Abraham was called up to the senior England team in November 2017. He made his debut against Germany in a 0–0 draw.

In October 2019, he made his first competitive appearance for England. He played as a substitute against the Czech Republic. This meant he was now committed to playing for England. He scored his first goal for England in November 2019. It was in a 7–0 win against Montenegro. He has scored three goals for England in total.

Tammy Abraham was born in Camberwell, London. His parents are from Nigeria. He grew up as an Arsenal fan. His younger brother, Timmy Abraham, is also a footballer.

In January 2017, while on loan at Bristol City, Tammy was involved in a car accident. He later obtained his driving licence in March of that year.
