The Flintstone Comedy Show was an American animated television series that brought back the popular The Flintstones characters. It was made by Hanna-Barbera and first aired on NBC on November 22, 1980. The show ran until October 24, 1981. If you lived outside North America, you might have known it as Flintstone Frolics.
This show was special because it was actually made up of six different mini-shows, called segments, all in one! These segments were: The Flintstone Family Adventures, Bedrock Cops, Pebbles, Dino and Bamm-Bamm, Captain Caveman, Dino and the Cavemouse, and The Frankenstones.
Discovering the Show's Segments
This series introduced some new characters, like the funny Frankenstones family and the tiny Cavemouse. It also brought back some older characters that fans might remember from other shows. These included Penny, Wiggy, Moonrock, and Schleprock from The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show (1971) and The Flintstone Comedy Hour (1972). Even Al Capp's Shmoo from The New Shmoo (1979) and Captain Caveman from his own series (1977) joined the fun!
Between the six main segments, the show also featured short, fun parts like quick jokes, educational tips, games, how-to-draw lessons, and a "dance-of-the-week." Later, in 1982, reruns of the show were put together again and called The Flintstone Funnies. Some of the "Dino and the Cavemouse" episodes even aired on the Disney Channel as part of Wake, Rattle, and Roll.

In these adventures, Captain Caveman worked as Chester, an office boy, alongside Betty and Wilma at The Daily Granite newspaper, run by Lou Granite.
