The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is an animated movie from Walt Disney Productions. It was first released on March 11, 1977. This film is the 22nd full-length animated movie made by Disney.
The movie brings together three shorter animated films based on the famous Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne. These shorts are Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (from 1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (from 1968), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (from 1974). This movie is special because it was the last Disney film that Walt Disney himself was involved with. He helped create Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree and was part of making Blustery Day before he passed away.
A fourth short film, Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, came out in 1983. It is often included as a bonus feature on the home video versions of this movie.
The characters from the movie became very popular. They have appeared in many sequels, TV shows, clothing, books, and toys. The movie connects the three short stories with new scenes. It also has a special ending based on the last chapter of The House at Pooh Corner. Walt Disney had always wanted to make a full movie. But he decided to make shorts first to help American audiences get to know the characters better. All three shorts and later movies feature classic songs by the Sherman Brothers, like "Winnie the Pooh" and "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers".
The movie also inspired fun rides at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Hong Kong Disneyland. These rides are called "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". There's also a more detailed ride in Tokyo Disneyland called "Pooh's Hunny Hunt".

Making the Movie
The animators used hand gestures and movements to show how characters like Piglet and Pooh were feeling. This was important because they looked like simple stuffed animals with button eyes. One famous scene where Rabbit tries to get Pooh unstuck from his home was not in the original books. It was added by Disney when he first read the story.
Home Video Releases
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was first available on VHS, Betamax, and laserdisc in the early 1980s. In 1996, it was re-released on VHS as part of the Masterpiece Collection. This version included a special "making of" video before the movie started.
The movie came out on DVD for the first time in 2002. This was to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The DVD had improved picture and sound quality. The separate short films had also been released on their own VHS tapes in the 1990s.
The 25th anniversary DVD included bonus features like "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Story Behind the Masterpiece." This feature shared the history of the books and how they became movies. It also had interviews with animators and the Sherman brothers.
A "Friendship Edition" DVD was released on June 19, 2007, for the movie's 30th anniversary. It included all the special features from the earlier DVD, plus an episode of the TV show My Friends Tigger & Pooh. The movie was released on Blu-ray for the first time in August 2013.
