Therwil (called Därwyl in Swiss German) is a town in Switzerland. It is located in the Arlesheim district, which is part of the canton of Basel-Country.

Therwil covers an area of about 7.63 square kilometers (2.95 square miles). A large part of this land, about 46.1%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 24.6% of the area. The remaining land, about 29.1%, is where buildings and roads are located. A very small part, 0.1%, is made up of rivers or lakes.
Most of the built-up areas are homes and other buildings (18.6%). Roads and other transport areas make up 5.8%. Parks and sports fields cover 2.5% of the town.

Therwil has a population of about 10,000 people. Most people in Therwil speak German. About 90.6% of the residents use German as their main language. English is the second most common language, spoken by 2.0% of the population. Italian language is third, spoken by 1.9%.

In 2000, 244 students came to Therwil for school from other towns. At the same time, 364 students from Therwil went to schools outside the town.
In 2016, Therwil was in the news because of a discussion about school traditions. Two Muslim students were allowed not to shake hands with their teachers, which is usually a custom in Swiss schools. This led to a national debate about Swiss identity.
Sports in Therwil
Therwil is home to the "Therwil Flyers" Baseball Team. This team is one of the oldest baseball teams in Switzerland, having been around for over 30 years. They have won the national baseball championship (NLA) eight times. Their softball team has also won nine championships.
