The Town Toyota Center is a large building in Wenatchee, Washington. It has 4,300 seats and is used for many different events. It's like a big indoor stadium!
This arena was built, is owned, and is managed by a group called the Wenatchee Public Facilities District (PFD). It is the home ice for the Wenatchee Wild hockey team, which plays in the British Columbia Hockey League. Starting in 2019, it also became home to the Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks arena football team. In the past, other teams like the Wenatchee Wolves and the Wenatchee Valley Venom played here too.
When the arena was first being planned and built, it was called the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center. But in August 2008, a local car dealership bought the rights to name the arena. That's how it got its current name, the Town Toyota Center!
Building the Arena: Early Challenges
In 2006, several local cities and counties worked together. They formed a group to help pay for the Town Toyota Center. This group was called the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center Public Facilities District.
At one point, the arena faced some money problems. But local leaders worked hard to solve these issues. They passed new laws to help get the arena back on track. This made sure the Town Toyota Center could keep running and host events for everyone.
