Playing Style

Trent Boult is a left-arm fast-medium swing bowler. He might not be the tallest, but he bowls with good speed, around 140 km/h. He is great at making the ball swing both ways, which makes it hard for batters to hit. His main skill is bowling an inswinger to a right-handed batter.

Trent's childhood hero was the famous bowler Wasim Akram. In 2013, a former New Zealand captain, Jeremy Coney, said Trent was the best new bowler New Zealand had found since Shane Bond.

Trent is also known for his amazing one-handed catches. He can dive and catch the ball with either hand! He has formed a strong bowling partnership with Tim Southee. They have taken many wickets together since 2013. In Test matches, Neil Wagner also helps them with his short, left-arm deliveries. In August 2019, Trent became the third New Zealand bowler to take 250 wickets in Test cricket.
