Tuttle is a city in Grady County, Oklahoma, United States. It's a growing community. In 2020, about 7,413 people lived there. This was a big jump from 6,010 people in 2010.

History of Tuttle, Oklahoma
Tuttle started as a place for farming and ranching. It is located east of the famous Chisholm Trail. The town was officially planned in 1901. The land was bought from the Colbert Family, who were part of the Chickasaw people.
The town is named after James H. Tuttle. He was a local rancher. His family had ties to the Choctaw people. The railway for the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway was built on land from Frances Schrock, who was also Choctaw. Schrock Park in Tuttle is named after her. Tuttle got its own post office in 1902. It became an official city in 1906. At first, Tuttle was in Pickens County, which was part of the Chickasaw Nation.
Geography and Location
Tuttle is located in a low area near the South Canadian River. The United States Census Bureau says the city covers about 29.2 square miles (75.6 square kilometers) of land.
Tuttle is part of a fast-growing area. This area includes Newcastle and Blanchard. People sometimes call this the "Tri-City Area."

Tuttle is mostly a farming community. Farmers there grow crops like wheat, cotton, corn, and alfalfa hay. They also raise cattle.
Braum's Dairy is a very large farm nearby. It's just outside Tuttle. Braum's sells its products in many states. Tuttle is also a "bedroom community" for Oklahoma City. This means many people who live in Tuttle travel to Oklahoma City for work.

Tuttle has also been part of a TV series called "Independent Lens." This series looked at the topic of bullying.
The "Tigernado" Event
On May 6, 2015, Tuttle got a lot of attention. A tornado touched down near "Tiger Safari," which is a local safari park. People quickly nicknamed it "Tigernado". This name became popular on social media like Twitter. There were reports that tigers had escaped from the park. However, the owner later said these reports were not true. He confirmed that all the tiger enclosures were still safe.
