Wahlen is a small town, also called a municipality, located in Switzerland. It is part of the Laufen district in the Basel-Country canton.

Wahlen covers an area of about 5.42 square kilometers (2.09 square miles). A large part of this land, about 55.4%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 33.6% of the area. The remaining 11.3% is where buildings and roads are located.

Most of the built-up areas are homes and other buildings, making up 7.2% of the land. Roads and other transport areas are about 2.0%. The rest includes power and water facilities. In the forested areas, about 31.2% is dense forest. Another 2.4% has fruit trees or small groups of trees. For farming, 27.9% is used for crops. Pastures for animals cover 23.6%, and 3.9% is for orchards or vineyards.
