William IV (born William Henry; 21 August 1765 – 20 June 1837) was the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of Hanover. He ruled from 26 June 1830 until his death.

William was the third son of King George III. He was also the younger brother and successor to King George IV. William was the last person to rule both the United Kingdom and Hanover. After him, his niece, Victoria, became Queen of the United Kingdom but not of Hanover.

William lived for 20 years with Sophia Jordan. They had ten children together.

William IV had two children with his wife. Sadly, both of his legitimate children (children with his wife) died before he became king. Because of this, they were called Prince or Princess of Clarence.
