Young Lick is a mountain located in the state of Georgia, USA. It's special because it sits right where three different counties meet: Habersham, Rabun, and Towns. The very top of this mountain, called Young Lick Knob, is one of the highest spots in Habersham County, reaching about 3,809 feet (1,161 meters) high. You can even find the famous Appalachian Trail crossing over Young Lick Knob!

About Young Lick Mountain

This mountain is important for a couple of cool reasons. It's not just a tall peak; it plays a special role in geography.

Where Three Counties Meet

First, Young Lick marks the exact spot where Habersham, Rabun, and Towns counties all come together. Imagine standing on the mountain and being in three different places at once! This makes it a unique landmark for these areas.

The Triple-Divide Peak

Even more interesting, Young Lick is known as a "triple-divide" peak. This means it's part of the Eastern Continental Divide. What's a triple-divide? It's a place where rain that falls on the mountain flows into three completely separate major river systems.

Water's Journey to the Ocean

So, a single raindrop falling on Young Lick could end up in the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico, depending on which side of the mountain it lands!
