Şehrazat: A Turkish Music Star
Early Life and Family
Şehrazat was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1952. Her family has a strong connection to music and business.
- Her father, S. Siham Kemali Söylemezoğlu, was a well-known businessman.
- Her mother, Sevinç Tevs, was a very famous jazz singer. People said she had one of the most amazing voices of the 20th century! She even won the 1948 Miami Jazz Festival.
- A family friend, Arif Mardin, who won 12 Grammy Awards, composed the song "For You" that her mother sang.
- Şehrazat went to the International School of Choueifat in Beirut, Lebanon, and finished in 1970. Her parents wanted her to have a great education.

- Her first big hit song was "Yaz Yaz Yaz," sung by the superstar Ajda Pekkan. This song changed Turkish pop music!
